Wonderlab is a place to problem solve, invent and create exceptional communication and persuasion in any medium.

How we do it

A proven process in 4 steps

We have developed a simple 4-step process to elicit the best for your communication, brand or marketing project. Through simple strategy and creative thinking we unlock your potential and engage your audience.

Sound thinking

A proven process in 4 steps
01. Discover

It’s important that we have a thorough understanding of who you are and what you want to achieve. Discovery is vital for any project. The old adage “fail to plan, plan to fail” is the reason we won’t start any project without adequate information.

02. Report & Recommend

Discovery complete, we use that knowledge to outline opportunities, recommend a strategy, or demonstrate how to motivate your audience to engage, listen, learn or buy.

03. Apply

With an approach agreed, we apply our creativity to find, design and express your key messages in ways that help differentiate you from your competitors — in the medium that best reaches your audience.

04. Evolve

Project delivery is just the start. Once published we help you track engagement and audience feedback. Was the aim achieved? Are alterations required? How can we improve performance? How can we grow your brand?

Tikanga Māori

Kia ora

We’re still learning about the Māori side of our culture here in Aotearoa. We believe it’s an important part of what it means to be kiwi and living in New Zealand. It provides tūrangawaewae, grounds us.

For us this means tikanga Māori and te Ao Māori should be part of everything we do – and how we do it – not something to pull out just for special occasions. To revitalise a culture, a language, we all have a role to play. We are keen to learn, to understand and to contribute.

And to do that well, we draw on the guidance and expertise of Māori artists, storytellers and consultants. Learning and creating together towards a more authentic Aotearoa.

It was a breeze working alongside our friends at Wonderlab. We couldn't be more pleased with the results, and the journey was equally rewarding. Many thanks to the team.

Wonderlab was recommended to me by a professional colleague and didn’t disappoint. Wonderlab has great processes for helping work out your brand story and the creative skills to deliver on your vision. We’ve had excellent feedback on our new brand.

Nick McKissackCEO HRNZ

The Ministry has had a great experience with Wonderlab and is pleased to recommend their services.
We engaged Wonderlab to work on a digital campaign with a challenging brief and constrained budget. As a small agency, we questioned whether they would be able to deliver the results we needed, so we sought concepts from them before committing. Cam and Leyla met with us to pitch their ideas, and we left that meeting buzzing – we loved their approach and were confident the campaign would work.
Importantly, it delivered. All set goals for the campaign were met or exceeded. Wonderlab produced a series of videos for social media – one alone was viewed over 100,000 times.
This campaign represented a new approach for us on social media and was a leap of faith. Its success has encouraged us to continue to be bold in how we engage with our social audience and to experiment with new ideas.

Fantastic service.
Very strategic advice and awesome design!

Jeanette MansonSenior Brand and Experience Advisor, Ministry for the Environment

Working with Wonderlab was a no-brainer, based on the fantastic job they did for us on a previous campaign (2018 Data Summit). Despite a tight timeframe they were incredibly responsive and proactive. The resulting campaign was not only creative and engaging, it generated lots of positive feedback. It was a pleasure to work with such a talented, professional and capable team.

Wonderlab really listened, to understand my idea and discussed how they could help tell my story. They surpassed my expectations tenfold. This was design to a degree I hadn't anticipated. They gave it a texture, a look, a soul.

Paul Mc LaughlinActor, SiteSpecific Director

Wonderlab have never let us down. They listen, make sure they understand our briefs, have fresh ideas and modern approaches. They are easy to deal with and allow for free and frank discussion to get the right finished product.

Julie HoodCEO New Zealand Veterinary Association

We started working with Wonderlab on refreshing our client financial reports and we then continued to work with them on redesigning all our client facing communications, including our annual report.
We then got Wonderlab to develop on-line newsletter templates, which they designed and then trained us on how to produce in-house.
The results were impressive, our average engagement and open rates rose from 23% to 71% in just 6 months.

Suzy MelhuishCommunications and Client Experience Manager, Todd Family Office

Wonderlab understood our requirements and our audience. They helped create communications tools that worked across a range of channels. Working in partnership we were able to ensure that our messages in videos and print were informative, easy to understand, and appropriate for owners of Māori land who wanted to connect to their whenua digitally. The result has been exponential growth in users for our digital platform.
